Shoplifting Question.?

one of my friends stole from target. I told him wtf dude. he said its ok i got away. So he just stole a 40$ game, but will he get caught later?

Answers:
It depends, he might not, but Karma will smite him eventually

Possibly.

And depending on the laws of your state, failure to report what you know might make you an accessory after the fact, meaning that you might be liable as well.
if he left the parkinf lot without getting caught then no, he's free and clear.. an employee will most likely find the wrapper and turn it in & then target recieves insurance money on it
They might put a picture of him from the camera in the paper if someone reports a missing game. What are you doing hanging out with kids like that anyways? Btw - I've worked in retail (at Blockbuster). When stuff gets stolen we find it when we do inventory six months later. There's nothing you can really do about it.
I hope he does...that is totally wrong and so are you for not turning him in. I understand he is your friend but I would NOT want a friend that is a thief!
It is possible that he could get caught later for being in posession of stolen property. But not likely.

However, when you accept that your friend did this, you are giving him approval of his actions. He can turn out to be a delinquent in the future.

If you are a true friend then don't just let it drop. Let your friend know that 1. You do not approve of his actions. You are very hurt that he did this and think it is stupid and immature. 2. If he values your friendship, he better never do this anywhere near you whatsoever. You may not be involved, but if you are with him the courts may look at it as if you are just as involved as he is.

It is ok to stand up and say that you don't agree with what he has done. And if he continues to do this, the best thing you can do for your friend is to let his parents know so they can be on the lookout.

Good luck.
Well depending if a camera caught him or not. There is a chance that he will be there might not. But 100 percent what goes around will come around.
No. Sadly retail establishments are bound by very strict laws. They also don't have the resources to track people down.

If your friend ever got caught and you were with him, you'd be arrested too! Best advice: Do not go into a retail establishment with him ever again. He is putting you at risk for being arrested-what kind of friend is that?
yes! tell your friend to stop immediatly because stores nowadays have cameras all over the place and he could get arrested!
