Is it legal for a person that filed bankruptcy to be a Court Clerk?

This person filed bankruptcy right before the City Council appointed her Court Clerk/City Manager.I would like to believe a person that cant manage her own finances would not be allowed access to City money or munincipalitie money includeing Gov. Grants.

Answers:
It's legal.

It's perfectly legal. I'm so glad to know that YOU'RE perfect, though.
It may have nothing to do with inability to manage her own finances.

The single biggest cause of Bankruptcy in the US is unexpected medical problems -- one major problem can wipe out a family and force it to declare bankruptcy.

Also, a filing for temporary relief during a repayment plan is different from a dissolution -- so the details matter.

And the Court Clerk doesn't really handle money anyway -- they just handle scheduling and other paperwork. So the analogy isn't accurate.
