Need help in proving this is not ethical?

Btw. This isn't a real case. It is just a case given by our professor for the upcoming debate.

Ok. So you've got this thesis leader back in college who was a bit. gay. He was the leader of your group and he was often seen wearing what was seem to be "blouses for women". He was gay. He graduated suma kum laude from your college and you graduated with average grades.

fast forward to the future.

Answers:
You didn't say if your gay coworker is more qualified for the promotion or not. Assuming he is and is not just blaming his situation because he's queer.
Just say to your boss,
"Nope...Sorry I can't take the job and you need to promote the homo".
What happens after that may reveal evidence of ethics.

IMO

I don't see how this is unethical. Your boss said "You're just better". That could be true. Just because someone is book smart doesn't mean they can do well on the job. Also your boss didn't say any verbal or written words of discrimination.

Like I said IMO
An honors degree from college does not necessarily insure promotions in the workplace. Many factors enter into ones upward mobility, company loyalty, leadership, command presence and job knowledge to name a few. Although many countries have laws against discrimination because of sexual orientation, it may be that the company is reticent to promote the gay employee because of his effeminate demeanor which casts doubt on his command presence and ability to lead.
