What is the longest wait to see a social security judge?
Answers:
mishoney,
If you got denied for Social Security Disability, dont give up!! Everyone does the first time, even I did!! But, my (then) husband made me appeal it because we didn't know if I would ever be able to walk again.I didn't want too, but he kept insisting I do it, and that I would for sure get it, too!! Well, he was right!! And it only took from the time I was denied to the time I reapplied..Oh, about 6 months, I had a check in my hands!! You want to talk about HAPPY! I couldn't believe it took that short of a time for me to get it on my 1st appeal !! But, I also have really bad bout's with anxiety,,,,as well as depression. So, I do think this is what helped me to get it. I never had to go before a Social Security Judge, even though mine is Supplemental Security Income. Your case may be a bit different, I'm not sure how it works with Social Security? I'm sure its not much different than what I went through.. Just pray about it, and be very, very, patient, hun!! That's the "Best" advice I can give to you!! Good Luck with all of this and I hope you will have a speedy ordeal !! Smile!!
I am going on two years and still waiting
The backlog is huge. It does take a long time.
Understand that you are going to get rejected the first time. This basically happens to everyone. Don't let it get you down. Keep trying.
Talk to an attorney. When you get your SSD you will get a check for the money you would have received from the date you filed for SSD. The lawyer will take part of that money. It is well worth it, it will speeds things up a lot.

I started my social security paperwork in 2003 I finally won in the latter part of 2006. It averaged out to be about 8-9 months for each level I had to fight at.
