Yup, but you missed a few points.
1. the table leg was wrapped in a bag and looked like a shotgun
2. the police were responding to reports of an armed man.
3. Harry stanley apparently pointed the table leg at the police as if it was a gun
Given the information I don't think you can blame the officer who shot him, he had information about an armed man and then had a object which he thought was a gun pointed at him. I think I would have pulled the trigger too.
Sorry to be brutal but the police are trained to respond.
Imagine a smilar scene where a man is carrying a shotgun wrapped in plastic and the police don't respond and an innocent member of the public is killed as a result, would you question the integrity of the officers involved?
Of course you would.
You watch, they'll soon shoot an Innocent Man and say He was a Terroist.
Yes I remeber it. Why do you ask?
Yes remember, it was in our local paper
Yes i remember that dreadfull day. I couldent beleave what i heard over the radio. the man was walking with the table leg in a bag. but i dont think any officer has ever been prosicuted over this matter.
yep, but as I recall the man had been drinking all day and been using threatening behaviour, from what I heard he went home to get the table leg and returned to the pub.
If my memory serves me right someone reported to the police he had a gun.
they are shooting people willy - nilly without any evidence and they always say we can't shoot to disable because we are not marksmen! Well why not? They should be trained to disable rather than kill unless there is a clear and present danger. The Brazilian guy on the tube; was it necessary to
put 7 bullets in his skull? it smacks of either panic or more
likely over enthusiasm. They shot dead a kid just outside Hull
who was brandishing a sword, he made no move toward
them but he wouldn't put it down, so they shot him,in the investigation they said they thought he was moving nearer
the public! thought? they were exonerated.
to the maid of orleans ,they already shot an innocent man and called him a terrorist (7 times in the head)
Sorry about that ,in answer to your question yes i remember about Harry Stanley but not all the details .so i`ll give you a general answer .
This type of incident is anything but isolated and should be a warning to us all .The Government and the police who are hardly independent of each other these days ,are ever calling for greater powers but by the facts that every so often emerge, its obvious that they are anything but honest and truthful when using the powers they already have .I cant remember a single incident, when after a terrible mistake where they killed one innocent person or even thousands as in Iraq where they put up their hands and admitted they were in the wrong they try to weazle their way out of admitting mistakes on their part by bare faced lying concerning the facts and every time their lies are so pathetic and easily disproved they have to admit their incompetance (like the pack of lies used to justify killing the brazilian ,when there were hundreds of witnesess and the incident was recorded by their own spy cameras )
They are incompetant dishonest and not safe to carry guns and as long as there is no independent body that can make certain they are answerable to the law(in the same way its applied to the public) things will only get worse a murder is still a murder even when its commited by the police or a government
