Why are criminals in the UK provided with new ID's in some cases when they get released from prison?
Didn't Maxine Carr get a new identity when she got released from prison for her indirect involvement in the killing of the 2 girls in Soham? As well as John Venebles and Robert Thompson, but they were juveniles. Why give anyone that breaks the law the ability to fade into obscurity? New identities are only given to people placed in the witness protection program in the US. Just wondering.

Well here goes, facts: Jon Venebles and Robert Thompson were almost destined to commit the heinous crime they did, They were both delinquents and outcasts prior to killing James Bulger, Venebles Mother beat him mercilessly, his Father continually watched extremely violent videos, including Childs play 3 in which a child is murdered and splashed with Blue paint as was James. His Mother and Father were both clinically depressed and his Mother attempted suicide frequently and in front of her children, she had 2 other children a boy and a girl who both attended Special needs schools. He was in and out of care homes and Foster Care.
Thompson grew up in an extremly violent household, watching his Father beat his Mother (who was beaten by her Father as a child). His Mother was a brutal alcoholic. Thompson and his 5 brothers were left to raise themselves and all were in turn beaten by their older brothers. 1 of his brothers was later put away for sexually abusing little boys and it is believed that Thompson himself was abused by his brother and possibly Father too. It is also believed that they were too ignorant to grap the true consequences of their actions and may have believed that the acts of exrtraordinary violence were a ticket out of their hellish households. It is thought that due to their devient upbringing and familiarity with brutal violence they saw James more of a doll than a little boy.

I once had an elderly neighbour with a disabled wife and a young girl from an almost equally disfunctional household as the boys above accussed him of rape. She was 15 at the time. What had actually happened is that she had taken a pregnancy test and found out she was pregnant, in fear of her parents she sat on the pavement and sobbed, my neighbour drove past and saw her weeping, being a good christian gent he stopped and asked if he could help, she accepted a lift. Rather than get beaten by her parents she concotted a story that he had raped her. It went to trial and she crumpled under cross examination. She was punished. However, that old man had his windows smashed, paint thrown over his house, mobs shouting and screaming, hurling abuse every day and night. It was pandomonium.
This mob mentallity creates havoc and it is this that has motivated the government to create new identities for the 3 mentioned above. Sorry this is so long, I was trying to edit it, but it all seems relevant in order to answer your question. There is so much more I want to say.
Because Britain gives more rights to the criminals than the victims our system stinks.
It's to protect then from reprisals. People will still be angry about what they've done and will want revenge. So the government gives them new identities to protect them but also to provent any revenge attacks, which also constitutes a crime.
There is often more thought put into the criminals welfare than the victims or the victims family's over here
Criminals here have it easy and they know it, thanks to too many out of touch with reality liberals defending their human rights for them.
Any American crook would think he was in a holiday camp in prison over here, I have seen your prison system and its a lot more severe than we have

I think anyone that commits such crimes as the as*****s you mention deserve to be branded or executed (I know this is going to cause a stink) not given a new life, jv &rt may have been juveniles but what they did to that poor little boy was anything but juvenile, & mc, its beyond belief what some men can do but a woman that protects a man? arent they supposed to have some kind of maternal instinct? why should they ever be allowed to walk freely, the parents of the children they murdered should be allowed to pass sentance, witness protection yes give them new id's because they are helping rid us of free criminals, child molesters, murderers, rapists, paedophiles no they should never be allowed a free life.

My understanding is that it's so that once punished the minority of criminals get a chance to live in hiding so they can live in society once punished plus no reprisals are taken
