Answers:
I just walked my dog past a mother and her three children... one young adult female and two lads abour ten and twelve years of age. The ten year old was puffing heavily on a f*g and the mother just carried on walking and talking to the daughter.

I'm a smoker... I've never smoked outdoors, because in my day it wasn't done for respectable females to do so... I never smoke in my car... out of respect of others whom I drive about... I smoke only in my kitchen with the door shut, window open and extractor on... and leave the remainder of my home smoke free. For the same reason.

I put ciggies out under the tap and never leave ash or butts in ashtrays... and do consider myself to be a polite and considerate smoker... and as it is a democratic country and the tax I pay on my cigarettes also funds the NHS... I believe it to be my right to do as I please... with my own body... and I'm thoroughly sick of do gooders... who often smell of their unpleasant homes... of garlic... and of spices and body odour and too much perfume... smells that make me want to throw up... literally!

The same people who are hell bent on putting everyone to rights except themselves... yet... I am and always will be... appalled... that any mother will let a child under sixteen smoke.

But then... just like the intolerant anti-smoking brigade... I have my own issues and axes to grind... because I think no one should stand for parliament under 30... no one should vote under 21... and no one should marry under eighteen... and marriage shoud be harder to get into... and I decidedly believe that all men should be legally obliged to have a DNA and then when they leave their sperm about... and it grows to needing shoes and clothes and food etc... not to mention a roof over its head... they... as well as the mum who usually gets the sole responsibility and thus... always gets the bad reputation... should never be allowed to get away so easily... from parental duties!

There... I feel better now...

Older... wiser... been there... done that... seen it all and some... before most in here were born and so... I know... without a doubt... that forty years from now... some of the outspoken critics and intolerant people in here. will cringe with shame... if they get to come back and re-read all the judgemental rubbish that they write today;-)

Mum... gran... great gran... who also believes in tolerance and live and let live... for all adults... and serious discipline and control... where our kids are concerned!

end of rant!

Who cares? If someone chooses to kill themselves with a cancer stick, that is their choice. It is none of my business - or anyone else's.
Stop bleating. It's the best thing this government has done. I can now go out for a pint and not get home stinking like an ashtray having been made to breathe in some dirty git's smoke.

More people don't smoke than those inconsiderates who do!
The Palace of Westminster has different laws to the rest of us, but they brought in a smoking ban at the same time as the one for public places in England. It's enforced by the Sergeant at Arms and his merrie men rather than Westminster City Council. There have been reports of hon. members having a puff in the lavatories, but officially they can only smoke on the commons terrace. Not too bad this time of year, but there's no Homebase Gazebo to keep the rain off.
Well Happy Chappy still misses is faggys in the pubby.Soon get over it
yes they go outside to puff, just like the rest of us,and since i been kicked out of my pub for smoking and i have caught a cold im staying at home to puff my eyeballs out, cough cough i think i light anouther up
Apparently they can smoke whenever they like. The houses of Parliament is classed as an HM palace which means it's exempt from the ban.
What good is a law that is broken 20 million times a day and has all ready become a big joke.

And to all those who think pubs are now great..
Enjoy while they are still trading!!!
They're exempt, if you want to smoke become either a prisoner or an MP, not much to choose between is it?
