How to get money back?
I lent $900 to my ex boy friend. He changed his cell phone number and his address so I cant get in contact with him anymore.. I know his E-mail address and I can send an E-mail to him but he always ignore me. I know his mom's address and he is in the same city. I'm gonna go to a small claims court. But if he will still try to hide from me, what should I do?? I have to give up this?
When I lent the money, he told me that he will be killed by somebody so he needs money. If what he told me is not truth, can I appeal to the law more?

Unless you have some proof of this loan it's not worth bothering with as there is very little chance of getting it back
Hopefully you have a written agreement. If not, forget about the money.
No, take him to court.
There is a small fee, usually less than $50. HOWEVER, the court will require him to pay it if he loses.
It is best if you have proof you lent it to him. Always get a promissory note. If you have no proof, it might be impossible to collect. Even a cashed check is good.
If you win the case, which you will do automatically if he fails to show up, the court will then be responsible for collecting from him. They will garnish his wages if need be. There is nothing he can do to stop this except quit working.
unless you have a signed dated agreement / contract this is a you said he said deal and I am afraid you really don't have any legal recourse. Take this as a 900.00 learning experience.
unlike some responders most states can not garnishee wages for civil court settlements.
Sorry Good Luck
If you want to a small claims court then you just have to have an evidence of this amount from him.
i guess you have learn a lesson... you are not a bank and never loan money to anyone. i can see a dollar or two... sorry but youve been taken
yes. u should contact him via his mother and sue him if he doesnt come up. but before that collect all the documents- his requests at messenger or some relevant document by which u can proove that he has borrowed money otherwise he can simply refuse saying that u gifted this money to him.
and the date of money u lend him should not be more than 3 years before
never lend money you can not afford to lose. you are learning a very valuable lesson . you are probably screwed. live learn and be careful of who you love. the guy is a scammer.
