Can a civil lawsuit be brought if someone threatened your life over the phone across st lines?

The Judge can issue a warrant for his/her arrest even if it is over state lines. But, you need to report or they can not do anything. If he returns to your state, then they can pick him up. In most states it's misdemeanor. Depends on what he said. My nephew did something crazy like that and he lives in Texas and the warrant is from Oklahoma, where the people live that he called and threatened them of bodily harm.

i don't think the authorities will take your word for it if it was over the phone. it would be your word against his. did you get it on tape? if you did then think you may have a good case. in any event, notify the police because he may come to your town with the idea of doing you and your family harm and there will already be a police report about the incident.
