Why is it illegal to put salt on railroad tracks in Alabama?

It's found on many 'weird' or 'funny laws' sites, but I have not found any reason this law is in existance.

Answers:
Salt would corrode metal. It would corrode the tracks and might do damage to the Train. Would you like ti if someone put salt on your car.

Actually, it would keep the train from being able to stop in time. The salt granuals would slide the train as it was braking.
