Can I blackmail my boss with this story to try and get my job back?
One day he allowed marijuana to be smoked on the worksite(which is very illegal). I had some if it out of peer pressure and screwed up some of my work. He fired me because I screwed up. Can I threaten him and say "I will sue you because you let illigal drugs to be smoked on site, unless you give me my job back"? will this work? Could this stroy even hold up in court?
Answer:
No backbone? I would never have a problem telling someone no to something like this. Blackmail is illegal and you've already broken the law so why add something like that to the list and get yourself in trouble?
All you have is your word against his so without proof of what happened, you probably don't have a case.
In the future, be wiser.
Feel free. I hope you enjoy your jail time. Are you truly as dumb as your question implies?
You would need a witness or two for support, but it could backfire.
personally, try and get another job or sic the cops on him
yeah good luck with that let us know how that works for you
omg, how old r you?
are you crazy. it will sooooo get back as you as well. i mean you will get your boss but not only will he be in jail but you will be as well because smoking is illegal as well.(hoping you knew that already)
wow you must really be dumb. anyhow why would you even want to work for a douche like that?
Ok dude o,
I think I have an answer that may work for you. You can threaten a suit as a form of settlement. You can say, "Please consider giving my job back or I will sue you for firing me." This is a legal offer of settlement.
However, do not say, "Give me my job back or I will turn you into the police." This would be highly illegal. It is called extortion.
Isn't that kind of like taking your crack pipe to the police and asking them to fix it for you? This is a silly story.
You should be prosecuted as the criminal you are if you attempt to blackmail your boss.
