well, I read your other question. You mention she gained custody of the kids recently, so my guess is that Social Services and a Case worker is assigned to her and she is checked often. I really don't want to think that you are just doing this out of anger and resentment of some kind and this is just you being a good citizen worry for the well being of the kids. You mention they are living in a tent?! I can't believe it...today we were at 98 degrees and you didn't do anything to report them?? we were at code orange! If they are living in a tent that means they don't have air conditioner. I'm sorry but if this is true you should call 911 and let them know the situation.
Now...if you are doing this just because you don't like this woman or you don't approve the boyfriend, or this man was your boyfriend and he left you for her and now your bitter and just want to make their life miserable.please don't do it!! I'm a strong believer that "What goes around comes around" and whatever good or bad you do it will come back to you.
If you feel this kids are in any kind of danger you should contact the Child Protective Services, but please do it ONLY if you have prove that these kids are neglected, otherwise you will just add more stress on their life.
Just out of curiosity are these the children that live in the tent?
I thought it was the same kids. Unfortunately the situation you described would not be enough to get anything done at least not where I live. Of course you can always try reporting it and hope for the best.
I would act on in definitely. As per the specific action that would depend on the urgency of the situation and the circumstances. Perhaps DCFS perhaps the Police.
Please contact your local police department ASAP.There thousands of children seriously injured or killed because someone did not report the abuse going on.and as a parent myself I would not hesitate to insure the safety of any child..most states will not tell the name of theperson who reported the abuse/neglect...if that is what you are worried about...Can you take the chance of being responsible of the injury or death of a child because you didnt report them
Call the police or child/family protective agency and report as many facts as you can.
If you were the child, what would you want others to do? Children need protection and if they can't get it from their parents, the authorities need to be notified so they can take care of the problem. You can always ask to be anonymous.
How could anyone just stand by and do nothing? Even if what that person is doing isn't illegal or actually considered abuse by the state law, reporting the possibility to the police would put them on alert, so they're more likely to pursue action if another report is filed.
Besides, children can't do anything to protect themselves. Isn't it our responsibility as human beings to make sure our future generations are safe? Just some food for thought...
