Can a person sue another person for throwing a punch and spitting?

Answers:
of course! punching and spitting another person is criminally prosecuted as it is a common case of assault. Medical records in regards of the punching or a witness to the incident would significantly help to prove your case if the defendant denies the incident.

This might be a criminal matter, if you can prove the person actually hit you and spat at you. Spitting at someone could be considered as an assault. You should/could report this to the police as well as taking legal action/civil against the person who committed those offenses.
I think anybody can sue someone for just about any reason. If the suit holds up is another story. There are filing fees involved, so usually there is some valid basis for suing another.
What ? you thru the 1st punch, and lost....?
