If I leave a company without getting a comissions check, Is the employer required to pay me, by law?

Answers:
yes, if commissions are/were a part of your wages

that said, you may want to review your employment contract or letter of offer for the exact terms.

it is not uncommon for a commission salesman's last check to be held for a 'reasonable' period of time (such as six months) to permit the calculation of net sales to include returns -- which would reduce the commissions owed.

this prevents salespeople from trying to scam their employer just before they leave by submitting false sales orders to inflate their last commission check.

oh

Yes if you are due any wages or commissions.
I think they are, I was dismissed from a company and continued to receive commissions for several months, check your contract.
if you earned it and can prove that you earned it, the check is yours...write them if you don't get it within a reasonable length of time. otherwise sue if you don't get it.
not only they have to pay you but some states, for ex. CA, will require a full commission payment within 4 days if you got fired from your job.
