Is it legal for teachers or parents to punish me for not saying the pledge?
Answers:
It is generally frowned upon and regarded as bad form, if you don't say the pledge. But there is no legal requirement that forces you to say it. So, no. You cannot be punished.
As for parents - I believe that you're out of luck there - unless you plan to sue them!!
How old are you?
Yes and No.
Yes. And parents can punish you for not eating your green beans.
No. Teachers cannot punish you for not saying the pledge.
parents can punish you for whatever they want so you are out of luck there. teachers however can not punish you for not saying the pledge of allegiance.
Who knows best ? You, or someone with 20-40 or even 50 years of history and life experience behind them.
C'mon, even I hated doing it at times. But, respect for ones elders and the country is a character trait to be proud of.
Tuff it out.
nope, just move to Iraq/Iran/etc. and it's not an issue. course they won't let you vote/dress as you like/marry whom you like/or go where or when you like. but look on the bright side-you won't have to honor the country that provides you with the ability to say you don't want to.
seems like a fair trade to me
