When is taking from a person considered stealing? Isn't ANY property on me just private property?

The things in a man's pocket and even in his backpack should be left alone they belong to me?

Answers:
All personal effects can definitely be considered private property. Pickpocketing is obviously illegal. I'd say in most circumstances it would be considered theft. In the case of law enforcement, the 4th amendment applies:

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

Thanks for not making any sense and for not explaining. "Clear as mud"
Stealing is taking something that doesn't belong to you without the permission of the object's owner. Simply because something is in your pocket doesn't make it your private property. For example, if I took your wallet without your permission and put it in my pocket, will it now become my property? Can I assert to that in courts? That argument wouldn't pass the "Laugh Test".
