Is a charge for assalt worse than a charge for domestic violence? If so, what is the difference?
Answer:
Assault differs from domestic violence by the types of victim. You could get assault charges from any random person while domestic violence refers to assault on family members. They are both punishable the same and depending on the severity of the charges. Another difference is that law enforcement do not have a lot of choices but to make arrest if the victim of a domestic violence has visible injuries. In most assault cases, the victim has to press charges before the Popo could do anything about it or the Popo has to witness the crime in their presence.
Once convicted of domestic violence, a person would lose their privileges to carry a firearm which is not true in any assault cases. Domestic violence charge gets a lot of law enforcement officers fired from their jobs.
yah cuz domestic violence you only get a restraining order and not that much time assault is worse u do time and i dont know whatelse it goes worse for you
Domestic violence is a lesser sentence than assault, to the best of my knowledge. In fact, I do believe domestic violence covers a fairly wide range of possible charges, and it may even include assault.
What are you trying to do ?, watch out girl! lol
I am not sure that there i smuch of a diff. The only thing that I can think of is...domesitic violence is dealing with family and assualt is just beating someones ace. But I have a friend who got both on her parents and sister. She got domesitic violence and assault. I will ask my dad he is a retired cop and get back to you
