Lawyers, I need your help...?

Man gets 60 yrs for a murder he didn't commit. He was at there, but the guy that shot the man, blamed it on him. Instead of getting life, man accepts the 60 yrs (30 yrs with Parole) for the sentence.

Does he have a chance to get out early with good behavior and if he gets a great attorney? Is there any chance that he won't have to spend the majority of his life there?

Hateful comments will be deleted, Thank you in advance for any help.

Answers:
The days of one day in day out for good behavior is gone, federal law will mandate close to 90% of sentence to be served

another point depending on why and what purpose they where when it occurred one under felony murder law be tried for murder even if they did not do the actual shooting, if he was their with the other person and committed a felony and the person was killed under felony murder all people committing the felony can be charged with 1st degree murder, maybe that is why he took the plea deal

How on earth did he get sentenced when he didn't do it? His trial lawyer must have been weak.
He can get out early based upon his good behavior, but it's the parole board's decision, a lawyer has nothing to do with that process.
If he agreed to a plea that got him 60 years then it looks like he's stuck with it.
These are questions that should have been asked before he decided to take a plea. Given the fact that there are obvious issues with regard to guilt/innocence, it is surprising that a judge would accept a plea from someone that now so adamently claims wasn't the shooter.

An attorney isn't going to be able to do much after the fact, unless the guy wants to withdraw his guilty plea. By accepting the plea, he admitted to the offense. Its hard to go back and say, yeah, I know I said this, but I really didn't do it.

Do you understand what I mean?
