Can You Take Your Child out of the U.S without a Passport and Parental Permission?
I have a friend who was told that even though she doesn't have her daughters father's permission to leave the country to go to Jamacia she could take her daughter out of the country without a passport just the receipt that says that she applied for one!!
Is this true?

From now until the end of September, American citizens who applied for passports but have not received them will be allowed to fly to Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean without passports. Adults will, however, need both proof of identity and proof that their passport is being processed. Children will just need proof that the passport is being processed -- proof you can download at www.travel.state.gov.
if you have proof that you have appied for a passport that is enough. As for parental premission that depends on the custody agreement.
deffinatly not. she can be arrested for this and they can take the kids away and hand them over for the dad
Hi,
Every passenger leaving or entering the USA requires
a passport or traveling documents. No ifs or buts.
regards....
NO You Cannot. Customs will say AIYREE! You try again when you got the Passport mon.
Receipt? Please. Besides she still needs written permission from the father in a notarized letter, which Customs will also need to see.
Got it?
i am in the same situation and according to the passport application you either have to have permission from the father or get full custody in order to get a passport to leave the country. By the way i have one daughter with full custody and the other i am taking to court to get the same thing so we can leave the country every once in a while. MY families from mexico.
She can take her without father's permission. She cannot take her without passport.
you technically can leave, but it's getting back in that will be the problem, dido to the girl that is going through the same thing
