Is a parent/guardian liable if?
their underage child is having a booze/alcohol party (with their condonement/permission) in their home, and someone (also underage) leaves and has an accident? (or something else bad happens to them, while under the influence of alcohol served)?
Answers:
Yes, they can be sued if the parents were fully aware of the drinking. They can also get arrested for serving alcohol to minors and fined.
P.S. There were some parents that I knew who were out of the house when their child threw a party with alcohol--they ended up getting a big fine (when they got back home) because the police came and busted the party at their house.
I think so, I have heard that this is known to happen, that the parents are held liable.
Ya
Yes the parent would be liable
yes beware!!! you will go to jail
it depends on the state. and while it was a liability before, the laws have changed in some states that there is no longer liability.

Are you stupid YES!
yes. you're liable for sure. and you could also be arrested on the spot just for being the adult in a situation where a minor is under the influence (regardless of being the parent/guardian)
In most areas, yes. They allowed underage drinking to occur and allowed the child to leave. Therefore, they can also generally be charged as at least an accessory to any injuries or deaths.
YES-
And the PARENT (and I use the term lightly) should go to jail.
of course they are liable.
There was a trial exactly like this on Court TV a year or so ago. It was a civil trial. The parents had a non-alcohol party for teens. Some teens had brought some liquer. The mom discovered it and poured it out, or so she thought. At any rate a kid left the party tanked up and killed a man and his grand daughter coming home from a movie. The parents of the little girl sued the parents who had the non-alcohol teen party. If I remember correctly the plaintiffs won the case.
There had also been a criminal trial brought but I think it was thrown out.
Not only are they liable, they could be sued and stuck in prison for a very long time. You definately will be convicted of distributing alcohol to a minor, on however many counts as there are kids at the party. Just don't do it, would be my advice.
Yes, for many years and in many jurisdictions there have been dram shop acts where the person who runs the bar can be held liable for some of the drunken actions of his or her clients. Parents allowing minors to drink should be under very strict liability.
It would be considered contributing to the delinquency of a minor. And the parents can be in trouble.
Yes. You could be charged with neglect or endangerment. But moreso you're wide open to be sued in civil court.,
What is worser they could lose custody of thar childrens.
