Why should Freemasons remain above the law when it relates to sexual abuse of children?

Answers:
Because they are the law and control it!

Exactly what are you referring to? No one should be above the law for any reason. My father is, and my grandfather was, a freemason. Freemasons do wonderful charity work, especially with children. Shriners Hospital is a free hospital for children who are seriously ill and their parents can't pay for their treatment. The Freemasons fund it completely.
What on earth makes you think that they are?
Every job has to have it's perks.
Based on what?
Could someone please explain where this comes from since when have freemasons been above the law regarding anything let alone child abuse.
And no i am not a freemason nor am I anything to do with them I am just baffled by this question
They shouldn't and they aren't. There is nothing in the Masonic code that calls for sexual abuse of children. Being a Mason doesn't excuse any type of criminal conduct. Have you ever heard of anyone pleading not guilty due to being a Mason?
They should not be above the law at all. But we all know that it happens. Sad but true that it is not what you know but who you know and sometimes who you are.
they shouldn't.
& is one of the main reasons, amongst others that i won't have anything to do with them.
covering the backs of thieves, conmen & the like, is bad enough but helping perverts is unforgivable
YES it hacks me off too!
And how do you know about that?
I thought they were a secret society.
Who on earth says they do? That is a very strong allegation, what proof do you have?
It is the secret handshake.

But seriously, what are you talking about? The only thing I could google on the topic relates to cases from the 70's and 80's. I have not heard of anything recently.

In any case, nobody is above the law, but corruption exists in every organization.
Freemasons not only are not above the law and do not consider themselves to be above the law, any Freemason involved in the sexual abuse of children would be expelled from the society.

What proof do you have of your allegations?
Only priests sexually abuse children! by the way if this answer is removed then so should the question.

You are making a false Statement .You might think it nicer to apologise .
Only perverts sexually abuse children. It has nothing to do with being a mason or a priest or a teacher or a janitor or a clown. Usually it is people who are near children but just because a person is near children does not automatically make them a pervert. Nobody should be above the law when it comes to this and I don't think anyone really is. The law will come through if the child tells on them. If the child decides to take money instead of telling on them... well, that's their problem now isn't it?
This is an abusive, baseless and inappropriate question. I believe in and support everyone's freedom of speech but this type of accusatory question is inappropriate.

If you have evidence of this contact your local law enforcement of the FBI.

I agree with above posts that no one is above the law when it relates to abuse (sexual or otherwise) of anyone (children or adults).

I do not know what you are looking for here. Freemasonry does not support that type of behavior and if a Brother were found to be guilty he would be expelled from the Craft.

If you are speaking from personal experience and can verify your statements herein, contact federal authorities. I assure you there is no conspiracy to protect any Freemason acting in this manner. The local law authorities you mention might be corrupt, again, I do not know.

I did a search on 33 degrees but nothing came back relative to true Freemasonry, just a bunch of false sites and conspiracy theories relating to the Illuminati (not in any way affiliated with Freemasonry and extinct for over 200 years).
you know how it goes with those pesky secret socities. all incantations and hand shakes. especialy those aliens. so they must remain above the law..

they are not and never have been above the law only steven segaul can do that
Just because you were abused by a Freemason and for some reason it was allegedly ignored by the police, does not give you or anyone else the right to cast every Freemason the same. This is the type of inflammatory comment that can cause backlash against groups of Freemasons who are law abiding citizens usually raising money for good causes. Each individual person should be judged on their own behaviour, and obviously the person who hurt you was pretty evil, but you can't say they are all like that. My neighbour is a Freemason, and I'd trust him with my life, and I don't say that often. So do the world a favour, prevent intolerance, and don't post comments like those again.
