If i worked 2 hrs sat morning 12-2am, then came back and worked 5-11pm is this ok for split shift in CA?

i worked harry potter night, and we were told that our hours were being cut on saturday since midnight to 2 am counted towards saturday. so i worked 6pm Fri to 2:45 am sat, clocked out, then clocked back in on Sat evening at 5:30, am eligible for split shift hour since the managers told us that the company regarded the 12-2:45 as saturday hours

That really depends on your company's policy regarding split shifts. I work for a sports bar that stay open until 2 AM. If I closed tonight, I would probably get off work at 3 AM Saturday morning, but under company policy, this is considered working on Friday night. I could consult your company policy to determine this.
