If you had the opportunity to pass one law for the US, what would it be and why?
What would the punishment be for breaking it?

Make it against the law for any lobbyist to accept any type of monetary compensation for the act of lobbying congress for any issue.
The lobby needs to remain to insure that the desires of minorities will be heard by congress. It however, must not be driven by capital.
The breaking of this law should be against both parties involved. The person that attempts to pay and the lobbyist that takes the compensation. This should be a fine of 3 fold the amount of the offered payment to each party and 6 months of visible community service.
I propose congressional pay be linked to the REDUCTION in the total number of words in all Federal laws and regulations. No formal punishment is required.
