The right to free speech is a cornerstone of our democracy. They have every right to hold the views that they do.
You cannot punish people for how they feel. If the police have evidence of a crime they can and will hunt the KKK members who are at fault. There must be some groups you hate. Do you want the thought police coming after you even though you haven't acted on those feelings.
The KKK is a legitimate organization which has a right to exist despite their political and immoral agenda. The only time that the police have a right to "hunt" them is when they have evidence that they have ties to a crime, which has happened.
All they do in PUBLIC is protest..... so its protected by the freedom of speech.
You can only hunt people down when they break the law not for expressing opinions.... well not really, but in most cases this is true.
good question.....unfortunately from my understanding they only use the freedom of speech now (yeah right) But who is going to tell on them in those little counties. You don't see 'em the big cities acting out do you. 'cause it isn't going to happen. At least not in Houston.

The KKK has done less harm to black people than black people have done to white people. That does NOT mean that the KKK has any right to hurt anyone, but it also means that the Al Sharptons and Jesse Jacksons are racist and harmful to both white and black people.

Cause the police can't "hunt" anyone in this country and I like it that way. On the instances the police or the FBI received information of a crime, those implicated have been prosecuted. Successfully in many cases I might add. To do otherwise would be constitutionally throwing the baby out with the bath water.
The freedoms we have are at risk when you single out one group and punish them for exorcising their rights to free speech. We treat terrorist that come here for holiday better. Difference is what makes this country of immigrants special. Even if the KKK folks want to single out minorities, I would hope that the KKK realizes that they are in a minority themselves.
The 1st amendment specifically says that US Citizens are allowed to assemble peacefully and to protest. This is the foundation on which the democracy of our country rests.
