Are there any california laws prohibiting carrying Kubotans?
Was just wondering if there was a law in California that prevented me from carrying a Kubotan for personnel protection.

There appears to be no authority in California concerning the legality of a Kubotan or yawara. I think it possible that either could be considered a billy or a sap within the meaning of Penal Code section 12020, making them illegal to possess. It is also possible that they would not be found illegal. At this point, although my own feeling is that the odds are that a Kubtotan is not prohibited, I think you possess one at your own risk.
I think it's legal in California, but just to make sure ask your local police officer if it's ok.
