What do I say to my doctor who I havent seen for a while and whose brother was killed in the VATech shootings?

do i say im sorry? or say nothing to not bring up the memories?

Answer:
He's probably heard it all.

Don't say a thing and leave a condolence card when you leave. He'll appreciate that more. At least I would.

Peace

Jim

You say, "I'm sorry for your loss." And then listen.
Don't say nothing, it is his job to take care of you.only if he mentions something about it, say sorry. But don't bring it up!
Definitely say "I'm so sorry to hear about your brother" and "how are you and your family doing"

Don't ignore it. That is worse.
Say, "What's up, dock?"
