Are live exports of animals for food still taking place in the uk?
I ask as i remember years ago seeing all the protests on the news about animals being exported in cramped and cruel conditions on lorries to the continent.
I have in the past few weeks witnessed the same thing happening in Australia, with the animals being carted over long distaces, packed into the back of a truck like a tin of sardines & then to be put on a boat and shipped to other countries. I am amazed any humans are still practicing these cruel and barbaric ways. Does this still happen in the uk, and what can we do to stop this.

They continue, under stringent conditions. http://www.khaleejtimes.com/displayartic...

What one reads about conditions in Australia is terrifying, especially "mulesing", which is some thing I thought only happened in Africa. http://www.savethesheep.com/animals.asp...
Yes it still happens, though stringent conditions are now attached. We could all become veggie's then no need to transport them about, in fact no need for them at all.
Live animal exports continue from UK to the Continent as of midnight last night when the EU lifted the ban on animal exports [dead or alive] during the recent UK outbreak of Foot and Mouth.
