Do we have freedom in America? Why I can't visit Cuba or buy Property there?
The europeans have beaten us to the punch by this stupid law.
Answers:
Having "freedom" in Cuba is just the reason the American government has used for years to deny U.S. citizens access to products, services and traveling destinations. The hatred and fear of Cuba is irrational. More countries are friendly and do business with Cuba than don't, and it has become a favourite holiday place for hundreds of thousands of Canadians, Europeans, Chinese, etc. When they were a puppet state of the U.S.S.R. Cuba did not always control its foreign policy. But Cuba stood up to America over forty years ago (after its revolution, the Bay of Pigs fiasco, the missile crisis) and continues to speak out against many of the things that are wrong in the U.S. Americans do the same against the Cubans, but it does not justify embargoes, boycotts and attempts to isolate the island. The policy of isolating Cuba is stupid. America does business with Pakistan. Are people free there? How about Saudi Arabia? What about Vietnam? Egypt? American foreign policy is based on ignorance, arrogance and fear when it comes to Cuba. It is a communist state. So what. Get over it. What makes the American system of "democracy" so much better? It takes a minimum of $200 million dollars to buy the presidency in America and the "free" media does its best to make us believe that the most important things in our society are Paris Hilton's jail term, Nicole Ritchie's growing tummy and that fearing anything different keeps everyone safe.
Because you don't have freedom in Cuba.
You say: Cubans have not done one thing to us - Do some research on the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Buy a boat and motor on over to Cuba. It's not far, you can do it in a day, and you're unlikely to be stopped.
After you've stayed there a few months, let us know how you like it.
Gosh, I really wish you could buy property in Cuba!! Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose -- janis joplin.
Cuba is doing very well on their own, we should leave them alone. It is not time to build a dock to Cuba, if we did people would kill each other scrambling to get on it and run across the ocean getting here. But if we built a two way bridge, the one heading south would be empty.
