Sex offender moved next door to me?
A registered sex offender moved next door to me.
Her crime - 1 count of possession of child porn transmitted by computer. SHE DOWNLOADED A PICTURE OF AN UNDERAGE PERSON. SHE IS A PERVERT AND A CHILD MOLESTER IN MY MIND. She may have not touched a child, but she is REGISTERED... so she must be bad.
I am scared for my children.
What should I do?
Answers:
Just keep a close eye on your children. Other than that, there isn't anything you can do. Sex Offenders have to live somewhere. As long as they are following the conditions concerning registration, probation, etc, they have the legal right to live within the guidelines set forth upon them.
call police if scared
I don't know if there is much you can do. Contact your local PD, you might be able to get a restraining order. Put since it's a low level offender I'm not to sure. You deff can contact our PD or local govt and make a complaint that it's unfair for your family to be living on edge now. Explain to your children that you don't want them talking, pending on their ages you can explain to them, you don't wont them to be scared in their own home though.
Good Luck!
honestly you should stop posting all these random and usually stupid statements you've been making about sex offenders tonight..are you really that bored then go watch SVU where they all get caught
Well, if just downloading files, it is doubtful will be in any danger. Like you say, a lot of it will just be in your mind. People have to live somewhere, and she may turn out to be a good neighbor.
I would just tell the kids to not go to her house, if you are concerned. I really do not think you have any reason to be scared for your kids, if that is the only charge, and it is a low level offense.
You can be overly paranoid in situations such as this.
Chill out a little.
I would let the police know that you have children and don:t want her living next to you. and if you other close neighbors dont know I would let them know
The only viable option for you is to move. If you're in that much fear of your chilren's sake then move.
Other than that, there's really nothing you can do but prevent your kids from contact with her.
You should stop trolling.
Move.that's all you can do as long as she is complying with the terms of her probation or parole.
If she is not complying.call your county probation office.
It's really you isn't it?
My ex husband married a woman who's ex husband is a sex offender. My children live in Washington with their father during the school year because he won that part of the custody 3 years ago. I live in the state of Montana. My ex husbands wife has 3 children. The sex offender father is out of prison now. My ex husbands wife fears for her kids and herself. I have contacted child protective services for children to try and get a court order fast to keep my children here in the state of Montana. No such luck. They told me that until the sex offender actually does something there is nothing they can do. My ex recently married this woman about 4 months ago. How do you think it makes me feel knowing I have to send my 2 children aged 10 on the plane back to Washington so they can live in fear?
Good news! I have legal help so I can get full custody since all this has happened.
What to do: Keep your children away from that women. If she does anything, call the police and have her arrested.
There is nothing you can do if her residence is 1000 ft or more from yours. If you don't like it, then you should move.
