An unemployment question?

i just got terminated from my job i worked there 8 months and was full time. am i eligbile to collect??

Answer:
It just depends on the state rules for employment. I know that you have to at least work for a year at the same place to collect unemployment from them.

Depneds on what you got terminated for. Absinteeism, harrasment, insubordination...no. Layed off, probably yes. But beware, you will have a fight on your hands. Your best bet would be to find other employment.FAST
If you were fired because of something that was your fault and against the company guidelines, then no. If you were laid off or it was a temp/contract job, then yes.
Its all really tricky, my boyfriend got laid off because the company was down sizing, but he couldnt draw umemployment. He was there for 7 months.

Just keep trying, or find a job.
Depends on the laws of your state and the circumstances of your termination. Do an Internet search on your state + department of employment security. Each state has their own DES that manages the unemployment benefits. The only way to really know if you are eligible is to apply.

In Illinois a person can apply on line, and are later interviewed by an investigator. If the employer protests, a telephone appeal is done by an Administrative Law Judge. That appeal is the last chance a person has for their case, so if a case goes that far the employee must have an attorney. I think most states follow this same format. Good luck.
yes. you are elligable for unemployement
The best place to get the CORRECT answers is straight to EEOC, the link is listed below.
As soon as possible you register at the local Unemployment Compensation office.

Were you guilty, or do you want to protest the alleged charge? You can have a hearing with the Unemployment Compensation office to determine whether or not you are eligible for insurance money for unemployed people, while you are looking for another job.

You will have to file paperwork with the office on a weekly basis, to prove that you are actively looking for another job, and if they offer a job you either must take it or stop getting the insurance. It does not matter if the offered job is the kind you like to do or not.

The actual insurance will be like 1/5 as much money as you were making, but every little bit helps. The basis of the money you get will be based on a fraction of what you were earning a year or more ago, that is at some job prior to the one that terminated you.

Let's suppose you are eligible for this insurance, and let's suppose it takes you 6 months to get another job ... do you get 6 months of insurance? No, there is a cut-off at the end (it only runs for so many months) and at the beginning ... if you don't register with them for 2 weeks, then you do not get insurance money for the time between when you lost your job and when you registered ... only then does the clock start ticking.
