I need some advice involving legal system?

I need to take someone to court for some stuff they will not give back to me and western unions I sent to them. Would I be able to represent myself and not owe money because I cannot afford a lawyer.

Hiring a lawyer can be expensive, but there are websites like LawGuru, FindLaw and other places where you can get free legal advice. I found this website useful - http://www.uelp.org/freelegal.html...

If the amount is less than the limit for small claims court, yes. If not, possibly, however you could be at a disadvantage.
If the total amount is small enough (under a few thousand dollars), then it sounds like a small claims matter.

Lawyers are generally not allowed in small claims courts.
I'm not a lawyer, but from my exerience YES. Lawyers don't want you to do that. They want to get your money. I'm sure in small claims court you don't, but you may if the amount is more than small claims court in your jurisdiction allows. This amount varies but I think is usually around $3,000.
if its a small amount i would certainly try. you MUST have proof this person owes you this stuff.
you can represent yourself
