What can we do to combat Klan lynchings?
Every time I hear about African Americans or Catholic Priests being put to death at the hands of the Klan it makes me sick and I want to find a way to cut down these horrible numbers.
I believe that God put me on Earth to help others.
Now I understand that it is the Klan's Constitutional right to gather as they are listed as a legitimate charity but some members have hijacked the organization and turned it into a terrorism participating agency. Therefore, my idea is to have Klan members with a criminal background register with a national register for racial offenders and if they commit any crime of violence after being put on the list they would have to do mandatory time. Any suggestions prayer pilgrims?

Um, haven't seen any news lately talking about lynchings.
Bah. The constitution is not set in stone, liberals and conservatives alike have modified it to appease all kinds of interest groups.
I don't think that the Klan deserves protection. Nor do the bloods and the Crips.
To me, they are as dangerous as Al-Qaeda and we should be at war with them. It is indeed a good thing someone like me isn't in power, because I do not hide behind legality and allow organized mass murder and crime to exist. Any organization engaging in such terrorism does not have the right to exist, and all their proven members should be locked up and forced to work.
I don't see the law as always being correct. Laws have been wrong, illogical, and immoral too many times for me to give a rat's behind what the law says. Morality should dictate that organized criminal groups should have their members treated as the criminals that they are, for joining a criminal syndicate.
This is not a few bad apples spoiling a bunch. This is the entire reason for the group to exist, to cause mayhem and destruction.

Not sure what you've been reading or listening to, but I don't recall there being any such lynchings since at least the 1960s. I have never heard of a priest being killed by the Klan in modern times. There are some new hate groups out there that we should take notice of and be worried about. Ever read the postings on hate websites such as DailyKos or MoveOn? If you don't think the way they do, they HATE you and want you dead. These people are the new Klan.

When's the last time any chapter of the Ku Klux Klan actually lynched anybody? They're still on the FBIs watchlist, but as far as I can tell they've been nothing more than a paper tiger for the past 40 years or more. They just engage in silly annoying demonstrations and make speeches while having wet dreams in their white sheets, but little else.

Historically this has been a major problem in the USA with thousands of people lynched just because the Klan did not like their race or religion.
But the nation has woken up to the reality of this cancer within, and taken a whole series of actions to put a stop to such behavior.
I suggest you find a public library, and study up on Civil Rights History.
Since you are a time traveler unfamiliar with our customs and time, we have a quaint road sign symbol which shows a person reading a book. This is not to help people who are illiterate, cannot read, but to help people whose native language might not be the same as the dominant culture. Follow that sign to a building which will have the word LIBRARY on the front, then ask the librarian for guidance.
Plan on spending several days getting caught up on our culture and resolution of historical problems.
A warning ... the time travel police have drug stores under observation, because it is widely believed that the easiest way to catch time travelers is to look for people who have some medical problem, no idea how they got it, no idea what medicines can be used to help with that problem. You can avoid this trap by checking a section of the library called THE REFERENCE SECTION which will include medical reference ... what we know in our time, so then you can bypass the drug store to get treatment elsewhere, armed with the correct terminology, so you do not stand out as a time traveler.
