If the couple divorcing are in debt, is it better to go to atty with debt in hand or have it paid off by loan.

Husband pawned, bad checks, pay day loans, family loans - don't know whether to borrow from my family to pay off before I see a lawyer to divorce him or after?

Answers:
There are so many options and details needed to really make an informed decision in a time like this. One thing I would not recommend would be to pay any more of his debts off before the divorce unless you are worried about the effects on your credit. You need to write a list of those debts and take those with you when you see a divorce lawyer. If you have already made up your mind to proceed, let the professional (hopefully he will be a good lawyer) inform you of the best path.

do NOT take out any loans now. go to lawyer first.
Don't borrow from your family to pay his debts. See an attorney first. You may need to borrow from your family LATER to pay your half of debts or to pay your attorney.
you need to speak to your lawyer before doing anything, most of the time its better to get your divorce and then settle on your debt's. Too many things change during the divorce procedures to predict, so wait until you speak to your lawyer.
yeah the best thing i can tell you is call a mortgage broker or a fiance agent they can help
If your husband did it, then I'd go to the attorney and say see what he did, then cry. That'll get them lol
