In indian PSUs second saturdays are, leave or not?
I am a newly joined junior officer in an PSU in India , I am refused by my boss to take second saturday as leave. I want to know whether i am eligible or not?
Answers:
In some of the Central Government Department offices in India Saturdays and Sundays are holidays and in some Sunday only is weekely holiday. In Post and Telegraph Department in India only Sunday is weekly holiday. In Nationalised Banks in India which are PSUs only Sunday is weekly holiday. In some of the State Governments in India, second Saturdays are holidays. Kerala is one such State. Some of the Public Sector Undertakings are not governed by the Central Government rules regarding holidays. The Public Sector Undertakings can regulate the leave/holidays of their employees. But, it is point to be decided on the basis of the
rules of the PSU whether the decision of your boss is correct or not. In order to take a decision, it is better to study the rules governing the services of employees of your PSU.
leave, 2nd & 4th Saturdays r holiday's for Indian PSU s.
Depends in which state you are. Central govt PSU's have Sat/Sun both off. Maharashtra govt PSU's have 2nd, 4th Sat off. I dont know about other states.
the boss is always right. watch your step.
You are a newly appointed staff, so till you know the rules and regualtions your boss will dictate terms and conditions. You have to follow and you can not do anything . Better ask your union secretary and he will answer your question . Yours VRVRAO.
