A question for english policeman?

Are you only interested in getting a nick even if the evidence is stacked against the accused but you think they may actually be innocent or would you do the right thing and leave it even though you know you could have an easy conviction?

Answers:
lol - i was charged with murder a few years back and was really surprised to see uk police tamper with the forensic evidence(lying about where things were found and generally muddying the water) and feeding 'witnesses' information(like a neighbour who heard a sheet being put over a body through 12 inches of wall!) that they could not have had otherwise have known.
i wasn't found guilty, btw, but omg! i was SUCH an innocent! in the 9 months i spent in uk prison, 'on remand', i examined COUNTLESS cases where it was clear that the police had tampered with evidence and fed witnesses info' to get the conviction they wanted.
i honestly believe that police are only 'fitting people up' that they honestly believe are guilty, knowing, as they do, the paucity of justice inherent in the 'system'...but still, if you're up for jury service it's something you should think about!

just for an easy conviction less paperwork u see!
Read The Criminal Procedure and Investigation Act 1996!!
That's a thing of the past , we now sit around drinking tea
The police don't give a rats a*se about evidence and guilt, it is the 'clear up' rate they think about.

You can have a client charged with theft and the police put 3000 thefts to the person as TIC's.. eventhough there isn't any evidence against the person.

when the police think they've got their culprit they simply stop investigating. They not only drink tea.. but they dunk donuts as well!

Every jury on every trial think the sun shines out of every police officers a*se. The jury accepts discrepencies to the point where the police can blatantly fabricate evidence under the guise that they 'forgot' about vital pieces of evidence and the jury say "ahh.. poor pc plod.. been working 18 months on this case, if we let the defendant go, it will be all their hard work down the drain.. police aren't expected to remember everything..." Little does the jury know that from a 'shoddy' investigation came a shaky charge on the same day and for 18months the officers have been on the beat and dunking donuts in warm tea...

The criminal justice system is well and truely gone... I have no faith in it whatso ever. I have been on two juries, I know exactly what I am talking about.

I commend the police for the role that they have taken but if you are going to do a job, at least do it honestly and properly!!
In England justice is open to all, just like the Ritz Hotel
yes if you take a life you must forfeit yours and thats all i want to say
