How is a ruling in a civil suit enforced?

For example, OJ Simpson lost his civil suit for wrongful death, but no one is "forcing" him to pay-up with jail time etc...

Answers:
Marshalls.

That's because you don't get jail time for losing a civil suit --you pay money. And since OJ hasn't even tried to pay the money he owes, the Goldman's (the people who won the suit) will be getting proceeds from his book and anything else he makes money off of.

It's the same as garnishing your wages -- which is what they do to normal people who lose civil suits.
Assets can be seized, liens placed -- and there is always the provision for contempt of court if someone willfully ignores a court ordered judgment.
