Are mushrooms illegal in the US?
Ok, so i was pretty sure that amanita muscaria / magic mushrooms / whatever you wanna call them were illegal in the US. However, if that's the case, why is there a thousand places on and offline, legit, legal stores that sell them? And no, i don't think the stores are doing so illegaly, after all, try to buy pot or any other such drugs in a store, you wont find it anywhere.
Answers:
No they're not illegal as a matter of fact some religious sects are lawfully using hallucinogenic mushrooms in their churches.
Only for soup and sauteed served with your steak.

Amanita Muscaria are legal, in fact you can buy them over the internet,,,,
Portobellos are the best. And you can try smoking 'em too if you want.
The laws vary state by state and in regaurd to which particular genus/species of psychadelic mushroom.
Amanita Muscaria can easily be found online, and I believe are the most widely legal in the United States. While they do produce psychdelic effects there are also wide reports of intense nausea associated with the experience, and are more difficult on the body then other species of psychadelic mushrooms.
Other species such as psylicibin mushrooms (the ones you REALLY want), are illegeal in every state except FL (due to the fact that they grow naturally) and become illegal if dried out, consumed, processed in any way, or in some cases even place in a bag or recepticle.
Psylicibin spores (from which mushrooms are grown) are, however, legal to posses in every state (except CA).
