Heat laws? Band...?

Here in Missouri its been really hot (right now 99 degrees F last time I checked). I have band and we don't get a lot of breaks. I heard that there was some sort of law that if it is a certain temperature that so many breaks must be given to us from the heat so many times an hour. Any one know of this? Link?

PR - if you were actually an employee of the venue you are playing at, and you were playing outdoors then yes, a law/rule like that would apply - HOWEVER - you are more than likely just contracted with the venue - you are not employed by them. If you want breaks - you will have to negotiate them in your contract. Otherwise standard sets apply and the venue is not liable.

It is every 15 minutes in Texas. We had alot of people die from heat here. Dont know about missouri though.
Just wait until someone dies or passes out and breaks their French horn, then they will either start following the rules or make some up on the fly. Just pray that the one who falls over isn't you.
