You have just been murdered?

someone has just murdered you,for political, religious, fun or you were in the wrong place at the wrong time.they have deprived you of your life and have been caught.they are guilty beyond any doubt.would you like them to get the death penalty, life in jail, with possible probation, life in jail literaly.before you answer, remember you are dead, never to see your parents,brothers,sisters,husba... kids ever again.if you agree with the death penalty, how do you feel about those that do not and have banned it?they are happy to be murdered and show compassion to their killers, why should it apply to those that do not.

Answers:
If I'm dead I'm in a better place and will see my family again. Also once dead I would probably have no reason or desire to judge the person. If I were a survivor of someone who has been murdered however I would hope he got the death sentence and that it was carried out quickly

Interesting question. I would never be happy to be murdered life is too fun. I would have to forgive the killer though... maybe they have some psycological problem? It relies on a number of variables. Its difficult if you don't want to die to see how other people would want to. Great question.
Well if I've just been murdered, I'm either in heaven or hell. I don't think it would slide too well with Big G if I got to heaven and then condemned people to death, you know? So if I was in heaven I would forgive them. But, if I ended up in hell, they would be put in the middle of a Vick dogfighting session.
So long as they serve some punishment, I don't care what happens to them. It is not your responsibility as a victim to see anyone get punished, however.
whatever the jury decides is fine with me...as long as the murderer is convicted; the punishment is not up to the victim or their family(s) it is up to the courts.
They would have to be punished for their deed whether I forgive them or not.

That punishment is death. You take a life, then your life is forfeit.

My first fiance was murdered in 1993. His killer got 20 years in prison with possibility of parole in exchange for pleading guilty. He should have gotten death instead of possibly going free later on to kill someone else.
I don't know how people sympathize with hard crime. People who murder, rape or assault others must not really have much regard for their own lives or they'd have thought their action out to it's ultimate conclusion, or punishment. I would hope that person would be executed...violent crimes must not be tolerated. Why should society have to bear the emotional or financial burden of keeping someone in prison. It just doesn't seem fair for everyone's taxes to support that person or for people to worry if that person could escape from prison and kill again...I don't know what to say about people who do not support capital punishment.
I would never want the death penalty. The expense is too high and it has no significant net benefit to society (the safety issue is addressed by possible life without possibility of parole).

Depending on the level of remorse and understanding on the part of the person who killed me, I would be willing to let them out after a couple of years, or might want them to be in prison forever. My chief concern is that nobody else be under the same threat that led to my death. If that can be addressed, the rest follows.

I am dead! What would I care about who gets punished and how?

Punishment is something we do for the living, so that we can feel secure. It is a way of deterring others from doing the same thing or as a form of revenge. The person who is murdered is dead and gone and so is oblivious to this issue.

Are you proposing that maybe we should all sign something sometime stating that if we are murdered the perpetrator should or should not be killed or stipulating how they should be punished? I don't think that would work very well.
It's is interesting question. Well if I've just been murdered, I would never be happy and I will blame my self. So if I was in heaven I maybe would forgive them or not… but another people will hope that person would be executed...violent crimes must not be tolerated…
