How do you qualify to go on Welfare?
I know someone that has a BA and is thinking of going on Welfare b/c he cant find a job, and he also thinks he can go on to finish his MA on welfare? is that possible?

No, not unless he lies a lot. There is no more "welfare" like people think of as checks given out except for TANF which is Temporary Assistance for Needy Families. Supposedly it is for 2 years only then you have to get a job. This guys sounds lazy. There are many jobs out there if you are willing to start at the bottom and work you way up. Just because you get a degree does not automatically put you at the top of the hire list. (I really hate people who manipulate the system. This is our tax dollars and meant to help those who are really in need --not those who are too lazy or too good to flip burgers if necessary.)
Social Assistance WILL NOT pay to put your friend through a Master's program. And they are full of sh it if they truly believe they can't find a job with a university degree. I suspect this person isn't finding the job they "want", or the one that pays them as much as they "think" they deserve. Pumping gas is a job. Flipping burgers is a job. This person needs a reality check.

You see there is no welfare.
The Supreme Court, to a MAN JACK of them are against the redistribution of wealth via taxation. They find it unconstitutional. But, being insane, they find nothing wrong with a national financial suicide pact wherein the Constitution prevents taxation for welfare (redistribution of wealth by definition is welfare), but not borrowing said money, as long as it is not ever paid back.
Thus we are 9 trillion in debt. 8 trillion + since the insane Ronald Reagan Revolution. Several trillion since GWB got in office, and not even half of that additional debt was the war or "because of 9-11".
In short we are a nation ordered into bankruptcy by Goldwater style conservative thought in the courts.
What you can do, is sign up as a traitor. You can oppose the lawful courts and force the Congress to borrow money in order to stay in office and out of jail. You see, to the courts, the welfare state is treason. aiding and abetting treason is a crime. If Congress did not go along with the "sting operation" to find traitors, they would be arrested.
So, borrowing money to conduct police operations to find traitors to the suicide pact that the Conservatives believe the Constitution to be is not only OK but the Law.
But, accessing those funds makes your fellows criminals.
