What do i do if i dont have enough ID to get work.I am 38, and always have been a uk national?

no passport, drivers licence or even bank account(cant open a current account, got a building society passbook account, no signature on it for security ).Tried to get work via Hays and various other agencies who said they couldnt help cos got no signature/photo ID.Other employers have said the same.Had birth cert, P60, P45(am currently unemployed) and correspondence at current address from working tax and tax office.Gotta have at least 5 years worth of payslips addressed to here sat in my records as well.No utility bills as on key meters, council tenancy in partners name.Have had passport but need replacement(old one lost), but cant get one until i get work, but cant get work until etc...etc.Seems a rediculous state of affairs. This has to be a common problem.Short of not working until i get a new passport(its summer and need one sharpish, but have no money..aint happening), is there a way around this. What do you have to do to get work these days? Any thoughts anyone?Cheers

Answers:
start with getting a birth certificate and then apply for various things. sounds like you've been in prison for about 20 years. ask the prison authorities to issue you a letter of identity.

contact the consulate...what state are you in? please add to this and say what state you are in and i can help you more..i know in indiana we have a consulate..my husband was able to get id from the consulate and what type of work are you looking for?
apply for a provisional license, and do your test again. Then you'll have ID with your signature.
I'd go to job centre and get a job that way , rather than an agency
You can apply for your provisional license with your photo on it as a start, if you can't drive. That will also have your signature on it when you get it sent through. Since you are living with your partner, the council tax bill will have your name on it as you will be sharing the bill, and lastly, working tax credit certificate is a form of ID too. The birth certificate and your driving license will the be most important forms of ID you will be able to hold till you work at getting the others.
u have a valid national insurance number in your name?

driving license apply for one, the new ones have photo id

same with passport

also a birth cert is proof of id.

the tax office letter should be proof of where you live, if you pay council tax etc.. open a bank account.

as for your bills , hhm bank letter is acceptable. maybe get a phone on contract. .

the reason for all this security is a load of illegal immegrants scamming work and big fines for companies who employ them..
Hey, try and use your correspondence from the tax office to open a bank account, they should accept that plus your birth certificate. Then your pretty much sorted. If not try and get a job that's not through an agency. Then you should just need a National Insurance number, and a bank account for your wages (you could use your partners). Good luck!
