I got a DUI in Mississippi back in 1999, would this come up on a criminal background check now in 2007?

I was a resident of Louisiana at the time of the citation. The ticket was issued by a city policemen, I didn't have a court date, I sent in the money for the fine, and had to give up my drivers licsense for 90 days in La. and then carry SR-22 insurance for a couple of years. I'm currently a resident of TX, my drivers record here is clean.

I honestly don't know about your state laws, but I would think it would, especially since you are applying for a driving position.

It depends. It is definitely still on your record, but most companies doing criminal background checks don't go back that far for anything other than felonies (it costs a lot more to go back further than 5 years for non-felonies). I wouldn't worry about it too much as it was 8 years ago and there's been nothing since.

I should add the disclaimer "I AM NOT A LAWYER AND THIS IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE", just general rule of thumb from somebody who's run criminal background checks.
Absolutely. If your applying for a driving job, you can probably kiss that one goodbye!
