Why is it wrong to have (protected) sex if you're not over the age of consent and your partner is older?

Because whoever decided the rules felt that if a younger person was having sex with an older partner that the person was just pressure and they did not really want to do it.
I do not think it is wrong as long as it is the person's decision to have sex without any pressure determining it

As long as you make sure you're protected, it should be OK. Protecting yourself is good for you 'cause you don't get any disease, don't get any baby that will screw up your life at this stage, and is good for your partner as s/he may not be prepared to get a life with an underage... make sure you're protected... always... or you'll regret it...

Because someone who is below the age of consent does not have the mental capacities to make that kind of decision for themselves and would therefore be taken advantage of by the older person who KNOWS they (the other person) can't make that decision.
Why does it matter? It's ******* sick to date a teen if your not one.
Each state has set an age of consent because they can't judge the maturity level of each individual teenager. The age of consent is there to protect minors from predators.
No, it's not a system that is perfect. It isn't as if the guy who just turned 18 and has been sleeping with his 16yo girlfriend for the last two years has suddenly become a predator. But realistically, there is no other way to go about protecting the minors.

Because the older person is experienced and can manipulate the under age person. The under age person is too young and inexperienced to even know they are being used. They think "ooh he loves me". Then when they grow up they realize they were raped. Those laws are to protect the public from sexual predators, especially pedophiles.

If you mean "wrong" as in morally wrong it may not be depending on what you believe to be morally correct and under certain circumstances..such as 18 yr old and 16 yr old. Also you throw (protected) in there....it really doesn't make any difference protected or not as both people are the same ages whether they are protected or not.
How old are we talking here? My deal with people making decisions is are they mature enough to make any at all. We have a chronological age, however, it may not match up to our mental age. I have known some pretty childish 24-30 year olds. I believe sex is sacred and should be experienced by two people (MAN and WOMAN) who are in love...not puppy love. Lets keep it sacred and stop viewing it like a sport.
