Emancipation??
My friend wants to live with her mom but her dad won't let her. She wants to go to a teen shelter until she can live with her mom or until I find some emancipation papers online or somewhere. Any suggestions about sites or even just advice? I can REALLY use it. I'm seriously at my wit's end. HELP!!

Find an attorney (start with Harvard Law School or NYC for this information) that will explain how that works. So long as you are of heritage that is from black folks slavery - emancipation could help, really. Keep your information private, and you might get a break. No need to worry though, Mexicans can not intrude on this avenue. Not ever.
However, if you are mixed Black and Mexican, you won't get it. This is definitely all about a strong bloodline. Take care.
If she is wanting to live with her mom, then why doesn't she just get her mom to take her dad to court for custody of her? It would likely be easier than trying to get emancipated.
