Child Support Payments from parent on pending application for SSI- KY?

In Indiana, if a parent has a pending application for SSI (disability), he/she is not required to pay child support. Also, in Indiana, the state cannot jail a parent not paying their child support payments.

We're moving to Kentucky, where one can be jailed for not paying child support payments.

I need to know if this "loop hole" (application for disability) applies.

In Indiana, by the time the child support agency can do anything about getting the payments, the person can already be denied 'disability' and file again. It's a never-ending loop hole. This kid will probably never recieve another dime because of it. Is it this way in KY??

Answer:
I believe that this is the law in most, if not all, states. I would suggest that you call SS's 800 # and ask.
