Reproductive rights?
This is not about abortion at all because while that is about unborn children it is also about a woman's right to her own body and I consider that a seperate issue from this here.

Now how is this fair and equitable in America? I am all for men paying for the kids they do have but how can this be condoned, and it is in an ever increasing rate in today's judicial system, by society to basically strip all rights from men and be forced to support children not theirs?
Our court system in the area of children seems bent on making slaves of men giving preferential treatment to women in regards to custody, child support, and now total authority to declare any male the legal father of her child.
We can send people to space and the Moon..we sent a robot to Mars and we can split the atom for a variety of purposes.can't we work out a fair system of how to handle children?

I don't condone it but I can explain the rationale.
Where child support is concerned, the courts don't consider their actions the enslavement of men as much as they consider it providing for the welfare of a child. Once the judicial system has ANY kind of "hook" into a man, they will not let go. I have heard of this before - even if DNA tests conclusively prove that someone is NOT the father, there are cases where the man is still legally obligated to pay - if he has somehow "acted" as father and it would be "unjust" to take away support, etc.
I would not be surprised at all if men shown to not be the father were still ordered to pay child suppoort going forward.
Again, I'm not saying it's right.
I would be madder than h*ll if this happened to me. All I can do to protect myself is to remember that any time I have sex, a child may result. Although the law I have outlined may mean that, theoretically, no man is safe - whether he has had sex or not.
How does one prove that he DIDN'T have sex?
