Why don't the press ask them about child neglect?

Maddy's parents are a consultant cardiologist and a general practitioner, it's time to question their legal responsibilities. They seem to tour Europe and manipulate the media so very well over the last 100 days.

Answers:
People have.

They would give all the 'fame' away to get Maddy back.

Probably because the press are smarter then you, have greater understanding of events then you, and understand the difference between a dreadful and very stupid mistake, and child neglect.

Oh goody, I just love thumbs down, means I have hit a nerve, lets have lots please.

And I'm just a DimBlonde XX

Edit:- Lola, aahhh, what no thumbs down then little dear, but got you to react, hit a nerve huh? No darling, you are wrong, I work with neglected children, I know what they are. This Question says the press should ask them about "Child Neglect." Not one neglectful act. So you see darling, It's not me who is a dumb, it is you who did not read the question. Your comments are completely wrong. Child Neglect is a very serious matter. Come out with me one day, and I will show you child neglect. The McCanns children are and were very well looked after. They now have to pay for their stupidity, not you.

No need to tell me about the Childrens and Young Persons Act, I work with it every day. I have the right of arrest in the course of my duty and am fully aware of all the appropriate legislation
I agree NAB, why dont they come home to the rest of their "family, friends, and patients?"
Because most people believe they are being punished enough with the loss of their daughter.
(I'm not saying I'm one of them but just pointing out what others say.)

And the press want to sell papers and asking them questions about child neglect will not sit well with the daily mail/express/mirror reading general public.

It's going to take a very hard headed/hearted journalist to ask them these questions and I don't think they will be asked till Maddie has been found (which, unfortunately may never happen)

Edit - DimBlonde you are living up to your name, it wasn't a mistake, a mistake you do once and learn by, they had repeatedly left the children in the evenings while they went to dinner, that's not a mistake, that's neglect and if they had been in the U.K they would have been arrested for wilful neglect.

There is no UK law stating the age at which a child can be left at home alone. However, parents can be prosecuted for wilful neglect if they leave a child alone or unsupervised "in a manner likely to cause unnecessary suffering or injury to health" (Children and Young Persons Act 1933).

Edit- you're not the only one who has worked with neglected children and neglect doesn't have to be on going, it can be a one off occurence and i didn't give you a thumbs down as you make a fair enough point.
I am sure they have been questioned over and over by the police. If the media asked them anything, they would probably say " our lawyer said not to comment ".
