Should the drinking age be cut to 18?
It is in other countries and if you're an adult at 18 why not let you drink. Can't believe that people are still ticketed for drinking underage. Once you're 18 you can fight for your country, smoke do everything else so why not drink?

Hell no, kids in this country are too stupid. Plus we dont have good public transportation for all of those drunkards to take home, they will all be driving.
i agree with you. if our country leaders will allow 18 year old men and women to fight and possibly die for our country, why not let us drink at that age

I have to admit it's strange that a 20 year old man can come home from a year in Iraq and get arrested for having a beer.
Smoking does not impair your ability to drive and act.and there are numerous studies that show people under 21 just can't handle alcohol as well as people older, and that the bodes need those couple of years to mature...and when I say handle alcohol, I am not saying who can drink the most without puking. Also, we have enough problems with kids killing each other because of drinking and driving know, I can't imagine what would happen if we made it legal for 18 year olds to drink.
Because you haven't seen how many first-year students and grade 12 high school kids are dying in my town. Because of drunk driving. The drinking age is 18, I wish they would make it older, a lot of people would be saved, even if it is only by the bit of maturity that comes with 3 years.

More kids would be dying from alcohol poisioning and car accidents if they could drink at 18, because they don't know when to stop and they think it makes them look cool.
Let's move smoking up to 21 too.
In most states you cannot rent a hotel room nor rent a car until 21 and 25 respectivly. In all honesty I think those are more practical than the need to purchase alcohol. This isn't coming from a jaded old fart either.
I think it would be a good idea. Kids in other countries drink and they don't die on their 21st birthday. It's better to drink in regulation and not just wait for one day to get alcohol poisoning.
Nope. Most 18 year olds are not mature enough to make a logical decision about drinking. When I was 18,we crossed the state line to be able to drink since our state was 21 already.There were many times I don't even remember driving home. Thank God I never killed anyone.
The old excuse about being able to die for your country at 18 but not able to drink is a lame one. Joining the military is voluntary,a job choice.
The drinking age should remain at 21,we already lose enough young people.
