Over paying tickets??

I recently heard that if u send in a check to pay for a driveing ticket and make it for more than the amount of the ticket it cannot be cashed and will be sent back. Is this true?

Answers:
yes very true. it can only be for the amount of the fine. and if they send it back it is still marked as unpaid and if it goes for too long then they can put out a warrant for your arrest depending on the severity of the ticket. hope this helps.

It's true and the ticket remains unpaid.
Absolutely correct, and why would you want to send over the amount? Dang they charge enough, tip for a good meal , not for a traffic ticket.
It's because they would be obligated to cash the check and return the difference. They don't want to deal with cutting a check (giving out their account information) and all the paperwork.

Just pay what you owe. No more, no less.
