To look up sex offenders you can go to

http://www.meganslaw.ca.gov/

Which is free to use, just press the continue button at the botttom of that page. ( They include the pictures of the people, all there information, and if they have not reported in.

And to look up criminal records you can go to

http://www.publicrecordfinder.com/crimin...

Which costs money to do.

Not sure what you are asking. You seem to already know that he was in prison for 12 years.

Why would you hang around anyone like this at all?
How do you know him? If you know where he is hiding or the area he is in I would report it to the police.
there is a website with all pedophiles on it. call your local police dept. ask them how can you check someone suspicious out. or if they will. Make sure you tell them he won't give you his name and runs and hides when the police are around
If you know what town he was a sex offender in you can pull up the city/counties records. Try even typing into a search engine: sex offenders in _____. Our county has all their photos listed along with their offenses. You should be able to get a straight-up name after you've identified his photo. Good luck, and be careful! Not the sort of person you should hang with!
If you dont know his name, how do you know any of this is true? Be careful. Because if you "expose" this guy and it isnt true, you'll be in more trouble than he might be.
